Community Outreach: CBM Partners with SAJC Volunteers and PA for CBM Home Refresh 2024

CBM embarked on the first phase of CBM Home Refresh with volunteers from SAJC and Toa Payoh Central Zone 1 Resident’s Network

CBM partnered with student volunteers from St Andrew's Junior College (SAJC) and Toa Payoh Central Zone 1 Residents’ Network (RN) of the People's Association to launch CBM Home Refresh 2024. Through the programme, we aim to assist families in HDB estates by providing complimentary cleaning, handyman and repair services. The initiative is divided into two phases - the Home Assessment phase and the Execution phase.

The Home Assessment phase began on Saturday, 3 Aug 24, when volunteers from respective stakeholders visited the 2-room rental housing units at Block 63 and 64, Toa Payoh Lorong 5. They assessed the condition of the homes and noted the work that needed to be done. Almost all of the 480 units were visited by noon.

SAJC student volunteers approached residents of blocks 63 and 64 during the CBM Home Refresh: Home Assessment Phase

It was an enriching experience for everyone involved; the students got the chance to learn about the various spectrums of society, while the RN strengthened their existing ties with the residents. The Execution phase will kickstart in Oct 24 with CBM staff attending to assessed homes and providing the necessary services for the residents.

CBM would like to thank SAJC and the Toa Payoh Central Zone 1 RN for their steadfast support in the CBM Home Refresh programme.
